web-trend-map-4-2009

You know by now that I’m a big fan of the Web Trend Map by iA. I featured the 2007 and the 2008 web trend map version.

They mapped the web trends of 2009 again but this time they used black as background color, a fatal choice IMHO. On the other hand the map is less complex than the old one and thus easier to grasp.

I hope in 2010 they use white again to improve its usability.

Since it is not something I’d sit down and read but rather scan, I think the black version looks slick as!

I would say the image is a BIG picture of the Internet and the companies / domains that form the Internet, in an organized, 3-dimensional demonstration.

I agree with you the author. Though black is looking slick but its much more easier to read the same map when its on white or any other light color like white.

Please mind the commenting netiquette, most notably:

  • A "name" is a real name or nick name, not a keyword! SEO Company is wrong. John Doe of Google is OK.
  • For the "website" URL: No deep links allowed unless it's your "about" page.
  • No extra signature allowed, one "website" link is enough.
  • No bot-like "Thank you" comments with no context or added value to the post.
