I would be interested to see some statistics on the quality of traffic coming from StumbleUpon (as far as time on page, pageviews, even conversions go).
My first instinct is that it would be about the same as from SERPs, because while SU is predicting visitors will be interested in your page, and other Stumblers have approved of it, the "Stumble" button is really easy to click.
Either way, Social Browsers like SU are definitely a step up from Digg, and I think as they get more data, and their algorithms get better, webmasters are going to see their conversions from these new tools go wayyyy up!

> Land Projects UK: Your blog seems to be down. Are you sure you are not a bot?

Lol, no not a bot. Sorry if the blog was down, it's blogspot hosted so I guess you'll have to take that up with Google. ;)

Although I did see on the news this morning that a major internet backbone cable connecting Europe to the Middle East has been cut under the Mediterranean Sea! The Indian outsourcing industry is could take a big hit from this.

Trying to redefine a common term is a body move and a lifetimes labour of love. I'd be great for you to succeed, but I must confess to being sceptical about whether you will.

<p>Land Projects UK: Your blog seems to be down. Are you sure you are not a bot? I can relate to your SEO 1.0 problems but this blog is way beyond that. Especially this article.</p>
<p>david: Exactly. ;-) People tend to stick to old defnitions though. Outdated idioms will live on much longer than the phenomenons they were based on. Once a term is defined it is difficult for it to be replaced. It's much more logical for the term to adapt a new meaning. You can influence the meaning of a term by using it differently.</p>

Too many clients thing that SEO is only on-site stuff. If I have to explain one more time that SEO does NOT mean stuffing your keywords meta-tag, I'm going to go mad.

A typical example: I persuaded a traditional marketing company to give me a link and duely sent them the html I wanted them to use, with anchor text etc. When I looked at the link, they had "helpfully" changed the whole wording, to make it "read better" !

I lost the next hour trying to explain to the guy the importance of anchor text, sigh.
