Yea stumbleupon is good to get some traffic anyhow!..but I think that people is doing stumble in blind way. Making friends and getting stumble from same person every time or by requesting someone whom you already know through some other resources. Seems boring..I'm agree with onreact somehow!...I'm just raising a point here that stumble is not good for bounce rate except the web page having exiting images or animation or so...
What you guys think??

roshan: It's still a nice influx of traffic when someone stumbles you but it doesn't make sense to waste your time stumling yourself and trying to contribute. That's not the way SU works.
In case yoyu want to share with your followers and fans use Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.

Wynne: StumbleUpon is not bookmarking. Don't mix that up. Delicious is bookmarking. SU is social browsing or discovery.

Asides of that you're completely right. Investing your time in SU and having to hide your business affiliations is absurd. Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn allow you to be who you are.

Using SU is like watching TV. It's a good time waster when you're too tired to do anything productive but you won't get ROI from watching TV and trying to engage with it.

You hear so much about stumbleupon being a great bookmarking resource. But you're right, when they crack down so hard on commercial stuff or even your own stuff it's really hard to justify the time investment to even build a meaningful presence with them.

stumbleupon is still quite good for traffic point of view. If many visitors are what you are looking for, then stumbleupon is useful if done properly. A single link stumbled effectively is worth hundreds to thousands visitors (with acceptable time on landing page) within a day.
