The proliferation of social media sites has reached an incredible pace. This is great as now every niche has at least one social news outlet. On the other hand it is almost impossible to keep track or even find the sites you are looking for. Thus several bloggers have devised lists that not only link the social news sites mentioned but also categorize them.
Today I want to share with you a meta-list of the 10 best lists of social media sites. Some of them are topical lists others are sorted according to formal or structural criteria:

I told you, 2008 will be the year of the meta-lists. Now here we are ;-) Remember though that you can’t possibly participate at dozens of social media sites at the same time. Choose not more than 3 to 5 and concentrate on these.

Some of the lists you have above feature sites that are dead/inactive. It’s not about having a comprehensive or big list but rather the sites that matter or are useful IMO..

Thanks for the mention. I completely agree with your advice about picking 3 - 5 to concentrate on. In my opinion it is ideal if you can have a few niche social media sites in there in addition to a couple major ones.
