As I mentioned earlier, great CSS design is one of the main pillars of new school SEO or SEO 2.0. Most SEO company sites still look very ugly. What sense does it make to be #1 in Google if your visitors get scared away by the wacky web design?

For years I collected the still rare cases where SEO companies manage to do both: Do SEO/SEM and create a compelling web design for their website. This sites are the best 15:

If you think that I missed your or another SEO company that has a killer design feel free to add it in the comments. Certainly I did, as I mainly visit SEO companies from the US, UK, Germany and Poland. What about France, Spain, Russia? I am convinced that some great designed SEO company sites lurk there! I am eager to write a follow up on this topic.

Kurt: I love the colors of your site, makes me feel kind of enlightened. There is a little bug in Opera 9 though, the form and the headline top right overlap.
    Thanks tuf, fixed.

    What about SEOmoz? ;)

  8. Posted August 8, 2007 at 10:12 pm | Permalink

Thanks for recognizing Zunch site. We also have our Chinese corporate site in the similar design style at www.zunch.cn. Zunch is the only SEO company who has an official Chinese site and significant presence in China.

I think that the SEOMoz design kicks ass and is nicer than all of the above.

  10. Posted August 8, 2007 at 11:37 pm | Permalink

SEOmoz is by now very distracting for the eye, basically there are too many colors and contrasts, visual motives and site elements. I get very confused each time I visit the site.
Nonetheless I still recommend the blog:

I notice no pages from Australian SEO’s are there…. do you think we’d make the next list?

  14. Posted August 12, 2007 at 7:42 pm | Permalink

I’ve seen a lot nicer SEO sites. Some of those aren’t very nice at all.

  15. Posted August 12, 2007 at 8:11 pm | Permalink

So why don’t you just share the URLs with us?

  16. Posted August 13, 2007 at 8:56 pm | Permalink

would be interesting to see the criteria you used to judge.

Some of those websites look like blogger templates and one of them is hideous..

    - paisley - judge webbys and webawards

then again.. it’s all about PR..

  17. Posted August 13, 2007 at 10:46 pm | Permalink

    Well, paisley which one?

Criteria were: Clean design, room for the eyes to rest/no cluttering, nice eye friendly colors with enough but not too much contrast, visual appeal (pleasing graphical motif), clear reference to SEO/SEM on the front page, originality/uniqueness, and so on…
I’ve seen lots of Blogger templates and none of them look even slightly like those sites.

If you see any resemblance post the URL.

What about the UK site www.justsearching.co.uk - That’s a nice mix of design and SEO?

  22. Posted August 23, 2007 at 11:21 am | Permalink

Darren: This is a good site with great tools, I used it just yesterday ( http://www.justsearching.co.uk/tools/site-comparison/ ), but the design is not good you have to admit it: No visual motif, no white space, cluttered like hell, very difficult to read (not enough contrast, too many different font colors and sizes). Exactly what annoys me with most SEO sites.

    This site probably needs: http://seo2.0.onreact.com/free-website-review

Well…You have done a great research. However the positions in the Google have been changed So I feel, the companies are above in google should be given chance to be listed in here.

All the best and keep up the good work.

    Regards - Tina

Couple of really nice designs there, but also some poor ones I think. I really like MerixStudios and iCrossing sites.

    Pekka:

Well…Actually…The good serps are based on in-links as well as web site design, strcture etc. The companies are on the top of the list, are specifically those, have registered their domain names years back, they have quality of in-links, and in thousands..Yes. It is true, some designs are not user friendly, but are search engines friendly. This is the case…Search Engines are being so generous to them…

What would you say about http://www.luqman-technologies.com/ web design?

  45. Posted May 28, 2008 at 4:39 am | Permalink

That is an interesting site, if only I could read German. I myself am more attracted to the websites that have graphics that are related to the content, such as binoculars for searching.

  46. Posted June 16, 2008 at 11:15 am | Permalink

There seems, there had been a great research for finding the TOP SEO Companies, and bringing them in here, with the good user and SEO (Search Engines Friendly Website Designs), and with Good Google Page Rank, Technorati, Alexa ranks etc. However I feel, most of the companies, with the websites ABOVE in this specific category “SEO Companies” that rank well, with the good websites, are changed. Therefore, I feel, as many of the new SEO Companies have reached, Google Top Positions for Very competetive keywords, with the good Link Backs (In Links), and with the Good Page Rank (PR), and great Eye Catching Website Designs, should be given chance in here in SEO On ReAct.

Giving them chance might bring more quality works, and by giving them aim, will let them work hard more with full of their being, so they may stay on the page for longer time.

Thank you for the post, and I hope If this request comes on merit, will be considered.

    Thank you - Ayesha

Thanks! This list will help me when I’m choosing an SEO company. When I search Google I get a lot of results, so thanks to hand picking the best of the bunch.

  48. Posted June 19, 2008 at 8:43 am | Permalink

    Hey Ayisha,
I didn’t look for PageRank and such, it was more a choice based on web deseign and usability. I collected almost 50 other great SEO company sites standing out due to their appearance. I considered yours but it’s not good enough.

Tim: You’re welcome and yes, I noticed myself that when you look for “SEO company” in Google you seldom find a list like this so I made one myself :-)

  49. Posted July 12, 2008 at 11:00 am | Permalink

    Hello onreact:

Thank you for the explanations. When you say the websites are being considered, with the great website designs, and usability I totally agree and they for sure should be given chance. Well, anyway, I did not particepated in the discuession to get our SEO Company website listed, and for sure, currently, we are still building and I believe, when its online in next couple of days, We would automatically match the characterstics, that needs. I would surely let you know, when its totally uploaded, so you might like to have a look at and consider, if its worthwhile.

Thank you very much for sparing your time.

    all the best

    Ayesha
