Hi Tad,

Your post was heartbreaking for me. Because I was dreaming of becoming of a blogging superstar one day. ;(

But you are absolutely right with your points. We can not expect to carry around the one man show if we want to get established with blogging.

It takes a lot of hard work, patience, sacrifice and maybe a good business model also.

I agree with Mark. It is a little odd to think of bloggers as superstars. I think you should always start a blog in what interests you and then go from there.

It does seem silly nowdays to think of bloggers as superstars. I think blogging is now more about ideas than fame. The more profit-driven the mainstream media becomes, the more valuable the blogosphere becomes, imo.

Thanks for this more down-to earth approach on blogging.

I always questioned the potential fame of professional bloggers as none of my entourage knows the name of one of the top bloggers.

Having experienced blogging myself for 18 months I did not find the time and rewards to continue my WordPress blog.

I think that only an handful of bloggers will make a living out of it.

If you can prove me wwrong, I might give an other try ;)
