Social Media suffers from the same old problem. It’s a fundamental problem, so have fun trying to change it, but really you should stop trying before you go mental.

We tend to mass, inertia, momentum, and agenda for granted but without these social media implodes.

We all know that the first to flock to a system are always the porn peddlers, then come the viruses, and finally the soccer moms.

It will always be like this because of least resistance and all that.

You have to create social media. You can’t ride on it. Somebody has to be the horse. I have a proposal.

I agree about the part wherein social media is edging on becoming self-destructive. Something as simple as Twitter has been used for internet marketing to the extent that some times you feel overwhelmed by everyone promoting their own links rather than talking about something that has relevance.

It sounds like you have an absolute ton of experience with social media! I decided not to get involved in social media two years ago when I read an article about how your personal info isn’t safeguarded on social networking sites. I decided right then to avoid those sites but I have many friends that use them. It seems that only recently has this become an issue in the media after millions of people have signed up. I guess I’m old school but I think personal info is too easily accessible by companies and governments already.

This sounds like you have learned a hard lesson. I’ve never been one for social networks. I’ve always disliked broadcasting personal info about myself. I don’t care to tell anyone what I’m doing at this very moment or what my relationship status is. I do like talking about rock music so created a blog. Social networks will devolve and you won’t see much of them in Web 3.0.

Online social medias connect us to the world, but I agree to your insights that most of them will just use your account for their on advantage and never even just a bit for yours. It’s sad to know that most of us are getting so savvy with these online opportunities, yet they don’t get us to where we are desiring to be at.

I think social media sites are getting advance quickly. But we should keep in our mind that social media tool’s basic purpose is to build relationships not to deteriorate them. I can understand that sometimes people get sick of a social media site and definitely diverted to others. But social media is here to stay.
