The Zen Masters story makes no sense. Both seem to be getting attention. The monk by being seemingly kind and generous, playing good monk, bad monk. I am the monk master therefore I give and I’m willing to go hungery for the poor unknowing monk. Knowing all along that he would be seen being a kind monk would win the peoples affections. But it could easily be an act of ego.

The Monky story teaches nothing, but that’s the way of the monks. Nothing grasshopper …nothing.
