Double-edge sword, it can kill and it can heal. It depends on human who uses SEO. I am wondering why waste time to do SEO negative? How man competitors you can attack?

Rather than spending time on attacking competitors why not stay focus and only do SEO positive.

Anthony: It's too late! You already linked out to me. So now you have to prepare for a positive SEO attack.

Carl: Good point. The beautiful thing about linking out is that it doesn't hurt you contrary to popular prejudice. So even in case you link out to 100 competitors and only 10 link back it may be still a viable strategy.

Do I still link out myself?
Yeah, whenever I can but like noted above I sometimes simply lack the time to research the links to link out to, so I don't.

That's why I consider to use my blog as a proof of concept again. I will link out to competitors more in the Google Parkour sense I explained above instead of wasting my time optimizing for Google until some weird animal comes around the corner to kick my butt.

Hi Tad

I like the idea behind this, and really do think SEO should be more positive. This works well if somebody has a link to you, and I have been rewarded by Google for linking out to great sites. The problem comes in when your competitors don’t link to you, through spite, apathy or plain ignorance. Do you still use this approach?
