In my personal opinion twitter for many people is a platform where people share stuff and this is the reason why tweets with links got more attention than tweets without link... where are Google+ is more interesting for people who are either love writing mini blogs or talk instead of share... so if there is a good pots available they will more likely thumb it up and comment but sharing a link on Google+ sounds like a WORK to many...

This is something that i have noticed!

Thing is always the same to me: there is too much information out there, and sometimes you realize you are distracted by things that are not even worth it.
Google+ is full of good stuff, but it's full of stuff. Twitter, the same. You share something , but if I look at twitter after 1h I have already 200 tweets (mostly about crap) and I miss it. Too much information, too many people you think you have to follow otherwise you out. We struggle to have more tweets, or fb shares, or +1s, but is it really important?
"thanks for the share, but have you read it?". and I know for sure many people share things they don't even read.

Too much information, but the time is always the same. That's why I'm polishing my RSS feed to focus on following blogs that a) I love to read; b) when I read them, I say: wow, this is so damn good and not only the same old thing, this is something innovative!

Sorry did I read the commenting etiquette wrong again...

But yes I do agree Twitter is that much less self promotional but also it's due to most people in the industry are on Twitter. There are so many more features such as auto scheduling posts to be tweeted once published and overall it's just seems to be easier to hit RT in Twitter to give the story a little bit more coverage.

Also that on Twitter it appears to be accepted practice to share and promote others content where Google+ often seems to start with a detailed post and tagging the right people is just that much more painful. Google+ just doesn't seem to have much of a viral element once you publish a good post and it gets shared by a few in the industry.

There are still plenty of private channels people use to spike up social votes but this is not for everyone and can also put people off sharing your content just to keep your as a friend in the industry...

Also remove these damn NoFollow tags ;)
