onereact, yes you are totally right but i guess we all have to start somewhere. Until we can build up our reputation to guru status we have to in some cases accept lower paid work to build our reputation and portfolio.

I also agree with you about moving beyond DIY efforts and employing seo professionals. My vision is that seo will move beyond rank obsession and focus on conversion and optimization. With the inclusion of click rate on the Google dashboard my vision is getting even closer to reality!

I had a look at it, it's certainly no bullshit, it's great for beginners with small budget, easy to understand, but no real replacement for professional SEO services if your business is operating in a field with alot of competition. So, thumbs up for the way it's structured, although it promises a bit too much in my opinion...but it's better than 99% of the "guru tools" out there.

You mention in the interview that Google killed off Text Link Ads. Can you explain what they did? I have been selling some text link ads on my website. Thanks

Tahire: To be honest those small clients weren't really profitable in the first place.
Besides that once everybody does basic SEO in a DIY way those who want to stick out will have to step up their efforts a bit and pay a SEO professional.
