Search & Social Media Survival Guide

John Chow interviews are seemingly rare. At first I thought there are many of them but it’s not the case. Finally I found overall 5 interviews with him, one being from 1999!

Many people apparently envy John Chow or hate him for other reasons, as if being successful is an offense, so in one of the interviews he has to explain why he was banned at Digg. As we know by now he also had been banned at Google which to me shows that Google gets away with murder.

Why did I look for a John Chow interview or his name in the first place? Of course I had sinister motives. Like in my post where I revealed John Chow’s success recipe I wanted to learn how to conquer the world.

My favorite quote by John Chow is this one from the one and only audio interview with him:

without content you do not really have a site.

I want you to check out the interviews yourself of course. Two of them deal mainly with John’s other success story beside his blog, his Tech Zone site. A website which longevity in this online business is astonishing by itself. Check out those  interviews with John Chow, the guy is not only a success story he is also funny (but Tad Chef is funnier!)

Study the world domination methods yourself, but don’t commit the same mistakes. Tad Chef won’t be banned at Digg, I do not want to offer my content to those damn SEO haters. Google problems? SEO 2.0 is not solely optimized for Google. I get visitors via social media as well. I don’t like robots, I love humans!

The first lesson of the John Chow Google censorship farce is: Do not rely on Google for traffic, relevant results and advertising. Google treats you like shit whenever it wants.

There’s an interview at ProNet advertising, too:

Bringing the total to six I guess! I love this one because he starts to talk about himself in the third person towards the end. A true megalomaniac ;)

Oh! Thank you. I missed out on that. I hate changing numbers in my post titles but I will add it anyways :)
Btw. How can you not by a megalomaniac if you want to conquer the world?

I wonder whether you should say s/he? On the other hand they always claim that the algos decide on their own so it should be “it”.

Please mind the commenting netiquette, most notably:

  • A "name" is a real name or nick name, not a keyword! SEO Company is wrong. John Doe of Google is OK.
  • For the "website" URL: No deep links allowed unless it's your "about" page.
  • No extra signature allowed, one "website" link is enough.
  • No bot-like "Thank you" comments with no context or added value to the post.
