My freelance clients insist on 3 way linking even through I have showed them that posting comments on forums, blogs, articles etc, you have to mix up link building in order for it to be an effective approach

Very good post in interesting way. I like to do the 3 way link exchanges but never believed on the emails that are hitting my inbox every day with the text like you mentioned above. Bad neighbourhood is really a big issue when doing link exchanges.

Undoubtedly, blogging is more powerful tools. But, doing three way link in proper way according to standardization will also give you better exposure in eye of search engine.

Yeah you right. The problem with 3-way linking we get link from junk website. while our link partner will get quality link from our main website.

Search engines are much smarter now. Even reciprocal link exchange can cause problems if they’re not nofollowed(which is practically impossible, what’s the point of the xchange then). Guess we all will have to wait for the saffeine update of Google to see what measures have been taken up for combating spam ;)
