Are there any new ways to fight content thieves? The problem I have - they are not coping, but rewriting content, removing links and it is hard to find them.

One thing I have noticed that these thieves never repond you back and I also moticed that links to my inner pages were removed. The methods as mentioned above are quite useful and I will definitely try some and hope that I will be able to curtail some of them but I don't agree with taking contents from them as these people have no real contents of their own. Thanks for discussing in detial.

Amazing post! I absolutely can relate to dealing with content thieves. I have only had 2 run ins with them, but both times I had the problem resolved by sending them an email. I just stated that I knew what they were doing and that I was prepared to do a few things that would "crush their rankings" and what do you know...they stopped copying my content!

I am saving this article in case I have to actually put something into place next time! Ha. Thanks!

A very informative blog. I can’t even begin to imagine the horror of a webmaster/blogger when they find their precious content ruthlessly copied! You have put together a simple yet effective plan of fighting back. Well done!

For me, commenting on their blogs or contact them work in most cases and even I get some backlinks from them. Otherwise, I will contact their hosting and their ads companies.

But it's really damn hard to do so. Instead of taking care of your content, including links in post so when they copy and publish, we get some backlinks accidentally.

Good helpful post but I don't agree with #9 when you say to steal back from the thieves.

1. You could be stealing stolen content which makes you just as bad.

2. It doesn't help the situation one bit.

As long as their stealing does not in any way affect the performance of my site (in terms of SEO) - I can't care less.

I had a photo stolen: http://www.myspace.com/bezelmusicgroup88

And text plagiarised:
http://mom-productions.com/studio-services/

I never worry if it's coming from a very poor-ranking websites.
